FDA Approves ACCU-CHEK Nano SmartView Blood Glucose Monitoring System
Swiss healthcare giant Roche announced that its latest ACCU-CHEK Nano SmartView blood glucose monitoring system has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration and added that the device will be available in the market during the first half of 2012.

The new monitor is smaller than a standard sized credit card and comes with a brilliant backlit display.

Roche revealed that there is no need to manually enter the coding key and said that the device has a number of new features including "customizable test reminders, pre- and postmeal markers and average glucose calculation."

Stating that the device is perfect for those who want to test their blood sugar levels in a more discreet manner, Roche Diabetes Care's North America head, Marc Gibeley said, "The ACCU-CHEK Nano blood glucose meter will appeal to those who prefer a small, discreet meter with maximum performance and is Roche Diabetes Care's latest innovation aimed at enabling diabetes success for our customers and their health care team."
