People in need of organ transplantation are turning to Facebook to find donors, charity organizations have revealed.

April Paschke, a spokeswoman for the United Network for Organ Sharing, a private non-profit organization, told the newspaper that Damon’s case was not unique, “It's an extension of the way we communicate. Before we found the internet, people found other ways: through a church bulletin, word of mouth or an advertisement even,” she noted
Damon’s story underlines the usefulness of social media in the health sector. It is heartening to note that needy people can rely on these tools in times of need.
