A group of Dutch researchers have suggested that people suffering from attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) should be made to undergo restricted diet

However if the patient is not affected by any food items, then the usual drugs or behavioral treatment should be followed.
“Children who react favourably to this diet should be diagnosed with food-induced ADHD and should enter a challenge procedure, to define which foods each child reacts to, and to increase the feasibility and to minimize the burden of the diet”, lead researcher Professor Jan Buitelaar said.
