Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the role of energy conversation in controlling climate change and global warming.
Expressing his concern over climate change, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, November 29, 2015, said that though the entire world is concerned about it, this is a responsibility of everyone. Addressing the 14th edition of his 'Mann Ki Baat' program, Modi cautioned that the earth's temperature should not increase further. He said, "Energy conservation is the best way to make sure that the earth's temperature does not increase further."

Prime Minister Modi appreciated the role of ASHA workers in providing health services, especially in the rural areas. He said, "In India, I haven't heard any discussion on ASHA workers and neither have you, but through Bill Gates Foundation they have become world famous as family entrepreneurs. Whenever Bill and Melinda Gates come to India, they cannot stop appreciating the ASHA workers with whom they have had an opportunity to work with. They were amazed by the dedication and hard work of the ASHA workers." The Prime Minister also highlighted the role of energy conversation in controlling climate change and global warming. He said, "Noor Jehan from Kanpur is doing an unthinkable job by providing light to poor by using solar energy. Noor Jehan has formed a committee of women and set up a plant of solar energy lanterns, which she rents for the minimal charge of Rs. 100. Noor Jehan is inspiring the whole world, while her name also implies 'giving light to the whole world'."
