The central government is looking forward to technological solutions that benefit people at large, union Science and Technology Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Tuesday.
Following the inauguration of a two-day convocation of International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CAETS), union Science and Technology Minister Harsh Vardhan informed that the Indian government is looking forward to technological solutions that benefit people at large. CAETS is a non-governmental international organization of engineering and technological sciences academies of 26 countries. The minister said, "The Narendra Modi government is looking forward to technological solutions to be provided by the scientific community for the benefit of the country and its poor people. The prime minister was very keen for application of science to various programs like 'Swachh Bharat' and 'Skill Development' initiative."
Vardhan further added, "CAETS has an important role to play in advising governments and international organizations on issues related to engineering with the objective of contributing to the advancement of science and technology and promoting sustainable economic growth of nations across the world."
Earlier, Science and Technology Department Secretary Ashutosh Sharma said, "The government would look forward to the recommendations from this conference."
