40-Year-Old Woman Undergoes Liver Resection Surgery for Removal of 10 Cm Tumor
Durga Bhavani who was suffering from liver hemangioma successfully underwent a surgery at Manipal Hospital in Hyderabad. A team of doctors who performed the surgery on her, removed a 10 cm tumor located between two large vessels near the liver.
Dr M Manisegaran, surgical gastroenterologist of Manipal Hospital, said, “Liver hemangioma is a very rare case. The tumor of 10 cm in size is also a rare condition. After undergoing surgery, the patient is recuperating well. Her food intake has also increased.”

Cautioning people against liver diseases, Dr Manisegaran said regular consumption of alcohol would severely affect the liver, pancreas and heart. Any illness pertaining to liver should not be ignored as even a simple lesion might lead to cancer and death, if not treated. People should develop healthy food habits to keep liver diseases at bay.
