A green corridor was created for the ambulance to reach Bengaluru from Kolar in 48 minutes to harvest the vital organs from a brain dead boy.

The heart, liver, kidneys and eyes were harvested on April 9. One kidney was transplanted to a needy patient in BGS Global Hospital. Another kidney was taken for a patient in Suguna hospital and the eyes were sent to Narayana Netralaya.
Dr N K Venkatramanaa, vice chairman, BGS Global Hospitals, said, “Arun continues to be alive in these five individuals and we sincerely thank the generosity of the family. We also thank the Bengaluru traffic police for their support.”
