Currently there is no cure for CRPS. However, most cases get better within the first year. Early diagnosis and treatment is key to improvement of symptoms.

If not diagnosed or treated, CRPS can spread to other extremities as well and the patient becomes completely incapacitated due to the condition. Physical rehabilitation becomes very difficult and pain management can be complicated by dependency on opiate drugs.
