Glossary

Pituitary gland: Small gland at the base of the brain that secretes several hormones.

Sideroblastic anemia: Genetic condition where the red blood cells are abnormalin which the bone marrow produces ringed sideroblasts instead of healthy red blood cells.

Thalassemia: Genetic condition where the hemoglobin in the blood is abnormalresulting in low hemoglobin production.
