Yoga for Memory Enhancement

Om Chanting

To practice this one needs to sit in crossed legs posture or Vajrasana and take in as much air as possible by opening the mouthwide. Then slowly let out the breath while chanting A-u-m.

  • ‘A’ is pronounced opening the mouth

  • While ‘u-m’ is pronounced with the closed mouth to create a nasal sound.

This practice soothes and energizes a person.

Gazing at a point or an object

When doing nothing in particular a student can practice a simple exercise to keep the mind well focussed and relaxed. Take a fixed point or keep a board with a dot and gaze at it with eyes open. After five minutes close the eyes and visualize the point or any object that you fancy like -a flower or a bird in front of the closed eye or third eye.

Starting from five minutes it can be extended to ten minutes. He should visualize and rotate the bright light within. This exercise is a stepping-stone to both Yoga and Reiki Meditation.

Again this practice helps the student to absorb everything that he reads, retain and reproduce well in the exam. Basically, sitting quiet for a while gives peace and creates tranquility all around.

Hi Naznisa, I say Spirulina is a great memory booster or enhancer. High Grade Spirulina contains all know required nutrients and phytonutrients: complete protein, minerals, vitamins, enzymes, pigments, etc. As importantly its bioavailability is likely of the highest order as proven in clinical human trials and its beneficial results of usage proven in large clinical and industrial trials with animals and human. Of the many phytonutrients contained in Spirulina, GLA and phycocyanin [a blue pigment] are the greatest contributor to boost brain function. Phycocyanin is known to enhance the functioning of the brain and nervous system. Phycocyanin helps draw together amino acids for neurotransmitter formation, which increases mental capacity. Certainly the Gamma Linoleic Acid (GLA) content is another important factor. As we all know, the human brain is around 80% fat. Nerve tissues in the brain need "healthy" fats in order to function properly, and GLA is one of the healthiest fats you can consume. That's why human breast milk contains high quantities of GLA. In fact, breast milk is the #1 source of GLA on the planet, and spirulina is #2. Phycocyanin content of Spirulina combined with its GLA content (the good fats that heal) provides a compelling reason to consume these micro-algae. The GLA feeds your brain and nervous system with the nutrients it needs to be healthy, while phycocyanin increases brain functionality. It's a powerful combination. But please be careful where you get your Spirulina as a lot are using fillers. I hope I was able to help.
