Cancer Patients May No Longer Develop Skin Fibrosis: Here's Why
Skin fibrosis can develop in cancer patients as a result of radiotherapy. This occurs due to excessive deposition of extracellular matrix (ECM), which arises from perturbations in metabolism. ECM deposition can be regulated by targeting metabolism with new drug molecules and cell therapies, thereby preventing fibrosis.
