How to Take Posaconazole and it's Dose


Injection: Loading dose for aspergillosis: 300 mg injection given into vein twice a day on the first day. Then, 300 mg injection into vein once a day.
Delayed-Release Tablets: 300 mg tablets twice a day on the first day and 300 mg once a day from the second day.
Take Noxafil delayed-release tablets with food. Oral Suspension: 200 mg (5 mL) three times a day. Shake oral suspension properly before use.
Take each dose during or within 20 minutes after a full meal Do not switch between taking delayed-release tablets and oral suspension. In patients with oropharyngeal candidiasis, Posaconazole can be given for 14 days. For prevention of aspergillosis, duration depends on immunity.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Posaconazole is available as injection containing 18mg per mL. 100 mg delayed-release tablets are also available.
Oral suspension is available in 123 mL containing 40 mg of posaconazole per mL

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

• Allergic to Posaconazole
• Pregnant women
• Lactating women

What if you Miss a Dose of Posaconazole?

Patients should take it as soon as they remember. Skin the dose if it is less than 12hours due for the next dose. Patients should not double their next dose or take more than the prescribed dose.
