Why is Econazole Prescribed? (Indications)


This medication is an antifungal agent; prescribed for vaginal thrush, skin infections, athlete's foot and jock itch. It interferes with fungal cells growth.

When should Econazole not to be taken? (Contraindications)


Hypersensitivity.

What is the dosage of Econazole?


Topical- 1% cream should be applied over the affected areas once daily.
PO- The recommended dose is 150mg/day.

How should Econazole be taken?


It comes as a cream to apply topically into the affected area.
It also comes as a tablet to take by mouth with or without food.
