How does Anabolic-Androgenic Steroids (AAS) work? |
Text
Cholesterol | pregnenolone | 17-hydroxypregnenolone | dehydroepiandrosterone | androstenediol | testosterone (Testosterone synthesis pathway) Anabolic functions include increased virility, vitality, muscle strength and body mass while the androgenic functions of these drugs include the usual male traits such as deep voice body and facial hair. AAS are laboratory-synthesized in a way that would enhance their anabolic abilities while suppressing their androgenic peroperties as far as possible. However the drugs are not as ‘pure’ as they are required to be and even the ‘purest’ form of these anabolic steroids have side effects. |
