The 'World Breast Feeding Week' is celebrated between August 1 to August 7 each year. In a novel initiative for the benefit of lactating mothers, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa has announced that exclusive rooms will be provided at bus terminals across the state for women to breastfeed their babies.
Jayalalithaa said, "The new initiative will be launched on August 1, to commemorate the 'World Breast Feeding Week'. Lactating mothers who travel spend considerable amount of time in the bus stations and provision of exclusive rooms for them would enable them to feed their babies in privacy and at peace. This year's theme of World Breastfeeding Week 2015 is `Breastfeeding and Work - Let's Make it Work', aiming to encourage working women to nurse their babies."
