Rock star Pete Doherty’s father broke his vow never to see his son again, after the singer’s friends insisted that he was trying his best to kick his drug addiction.

Army major Peter met his son last week at the Clouds House rehab centre in Wiltshire, where the ‘Babyshambles’ frontman is being treated. It was their first meeting in three years.

The 28-year-old singer’s four-year-old son Astile was also present at the meeting, and for the first time the three generations were seen together.

Doherty’s manager Andy Boyd said that the singer had realised his priorities in life, and was looking forward to future without drugs.

“He has realised the important things in his life,” the Sun quoted the manager, as saying.

“He wants to be a father to his son — and a son to his father. He sees a future without drugs,” he added.
