British model and TV presenter Myleene Klass gave birth to her first child on August 16, just a few hours after she went into labour following a television presentation.
The baby girl weighed 5lbs 9oz and was born three weeks ahead of the scheduled delivery date.
"Myleene presented The One Show and felt a bit weird on the way home. She went to the hospital to get checked out and they told her she was in labour. The birth went very smoothly and all is well, but her stint on the show is obviously over," the Daily Mail quoted her spokesperson as saying.
Klass' spokesperson said that both the mum and the baby were doing fine, and that the BBC anchor and her beau Graham Quinn were 'ecstatic' about the arrival of the little one.
"Myleene had a problem-free labour, and mother and baby are doing well. She and Graham are ecstatic," the spokesperson said.
"The baby is named Ava Quinn," the spokesman said, even as Klass admitted that deciding the baby's name was difficult.
"We're delighted because we both really wanted a girl, but finding a name was proving tough. Graham thought I kept coming up with ones that sounded like Vegas showgirls or Austro-Hungarian aristocrats, and the names he picked had no vowels, because he's Irish," she said.
