Side effect(s) of Nafarelin


Review the side-effects of Nafarelin as documented in medical literature. The term "side effects" refers to unintended effects that can occur as a result of taking the medication.   Most Common
- Hot flashes, vaginal dryness, headaches, mood changes, breast enlargement, and decreased interest in sex, vaginal bleeding, increase in pubic hair, sweating.

  Miscellaneous
- Acne, muscle pain, reduced breast size, irritation of the nose, depression, convulsion, stomach pain, shortness of breath, chest pain, rash, severe itching, allergic reaction, osteoporosis. Rare cases of pituitary apoplexy (due to infarction of the pituitary) have been observed in patients on nafarelin.

Other Precautions :

Do not use topical nasal decongestant for at least 2 hour after nafarelin administration.
Do not stop the medication, without your healthcare provider's advice.

Nafarelin(Synarel) generic is a long acting gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH agonist) used to treat symptoms of endometriosis, uterine fibroid, and in assisted reproduction. It is also used to treat central precocious puberty (early puberty) in young boys and girls.
