Wearing Bras may Not Provide Any Benefit to Women
A French professor has revealed that bras do not provide any benefit to women and instead hinders the growth of the supporting tissue.
Besançon University’s Professor Jean-Denis Rouillon revealed that he studied the anatomy of 330 women over a period of 15 years and found that breasts did not benefit ‘medically, physiologically, anatomically’ by wearing bras.

Professor Rouillon added that the breasts of women who did not wear any bras were firmer and sagged less and the women were also less likely to suffer from back pain.

However he was quick to point that the findings did not mean women who are wearing bras for a number of years should simply discard them. “The findings validated the hypothesis that the bra is a false ‘need’. It would be dangerous to advise all women to stop wearing their soutien-gorge as the women involved were not a representative sample of the population”, he said.
