Haryana has been declared free of neonatal tetanus by the central government.
State Health Minister Kartar Devi said Saturday that a communication had been received from the central health and family welfare ministry, declaring that neonatal tetanus had been eliminated from Haryana.The status has been conferred on the basis of a survey conducted by the central ministry on births in the state during 2006.
