 Swine Flu Death Toll Reaches 387 in Gujarat

Swine flu calimed five more lives in Gujarat on March 15, taking the death toll in the state to 387 since January this year. Ahmedabad reported two deaths, and one person died each in Surendranagar, Arvalli and Kutch districts.

According to the state government statement, a total number of 49 new swine flu cases reported across the state, taking the total number of cases to 6,148 so far. A total number of 5,242 patients have been cured till date.

Today nearly 30,000 people are affected by H1N1 virus. The death toll due to swine flu is fast inching towards 2,000 mark. 

According to the American scientists, the H1N1 virus in India seems to have acquired mutations that could spread more readily and requires deeper studies. Scientists have said the Swine flu virus in India is 'deadlier than ever.'
