Soldier Gifts Kidney to His Sister and Saves Her Life
Afghan War veteran Jamie Partington’s Christmas gift to his sister is rather unforgettable.
The 31-year-old Army sergeant has donated a kidney to sister Kylie after the one donated by her father when she was barely twenty, began to fail.

The operation, was conducted at Leicester General Hospital, and was a success.

Recuperating at his wife’s grandmother’s home in Gloucester, Sergeant Partington said:

“With the rate my sister’s kidney was failing, we were looking at mid-2012 for the operation. But over the last couple of months her kidney function levels dropped dramatically and if a transplant wasn’t carried out soon then my sister would have to go on dialysis, anyone who knows anything about dialysis knows it’s not in any way pleasant. I’ve always known I wanted to donate a kidney to my sister, for as long as I can remember she has been one of the strongest people I know.”
