
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting to review the preparations for International Yoga Day on June 21 and called for steps for a "befitting celebration" of the event.
According to an official release, Modi said activities and events on Yoga Day should aim to make yoga a mass movement all over the world.

He said yoga's central theme was "synergy" and called for a coordinated effort from various ministries and departments and also active participation of people to "enable a befitting celebration of the first International Yoga Day".
Modi called for involvement of eminent yoga practitioners, spiritual leaders and other distinguished individuals from various walks of life so as to make the event a success.
