Researchers have come up with a new solution to this age-old problem by developing a new pillow that nudges people who snore when they sleep.

People, who normally do not snore, tend to do so after a bout of drinking, viral infections or after taking certain medications.

The Snore Activated Nudging Pillow is fitted with a microphone that records the sonic vibrations particular to snoring. When the snoring levels go beyond a certain limit, then the pillow inflates an internal bladder to gently give a nudge to the sleeper.

And while this may not be enough for really deep sleepers, the developers revealed that inflating the pillow to an extra three inches in depth was the best way to provide that gentle nudge. The pillow is available online at Hammacher Schlemmer's website at a cost of $149.95.
