A pacemaker type of device implanted under the skin of the abdomen helps in controlling Type-2 Diabetes by sending out electrical impulses to the muscles of the stomach.

By activating the stomach muscles with the help of mild electrical impulses, the device actually tricks the brain into thinking that more food has entered the stomach. This causes the brain to activate the production of insulin and release the hormones that control appetite.
A remote control is provided whereby the doctors can adjust electrical signals according to patient’s requirements. The patient can also recharge the device by placing a wireless charger on the stomach for 45 minutes once in a week.
