 Pacemaker for Diabetes Victims
A pacemaker type of device implanted under the skin of the abdomen helps in controlling Type-2 Diabetes by sending out electrical impulses to the muscles of the stomach.
This device works by activating the stomach muscles when the patient is eating. The improved movement of stomach muscles results in release of more insulin which helps in controlling the amount of sugar present in the blood.

By activating the stomach muscles with the help of mild electrical impulses, the device actually tricks the brain into thinking that more food has entered the stomach. This causes the brain to activate the production of insulin and release the hormones that control appetite.

A remote control is provided whereby the doctors can adjust electrical signals according to patient’s requirements. The patient can also recharge the device by placing a wireless charger on the stomach for 45 minutes once in a week.
