A recent study has revealed a three fold risk of blood clots in women consuming a new type of birth control pill.

Bayer’s Yasmin and Yaz, which are commonly prescribed in Canada contains Drospirenone as the primary ingredient.
"Prescribing lower risk levonorgestrel preparations as the first line choice in women wishing to take an oral contraceptive would seem prudent," the report said.
