No Remedy for Colic in Babies

A baby with colic can be very distressing as it cries unceasingly and parents try out anything to get some rest - both for their child and for themselves.

Some of the treatments include fennel extract, sugar drops, herbal teas and massage, according to a review by University of Exeter researchers, published in Pediatrics. Almost 15 studies involving 1,000 babies were analyzed and the conclusion was reached that nothing really helped to alleviate the symptoms.

Doctors state that colic has no cause that has been identified and the only thing to do is to wait it out as the crying usually disappears after a few months.
