British Health Secretary, Andrew Lansley has ruled out regulating junk food and has said that the government wants to work with the food industry.
"No government campaign or program can force people to make healthy choices," a statement from Lansley said. "We want to free business from the burden of regulation, but we don't want, in doing that, to sacrifice public health outcomes."
He is of the opinion that the country will be benefitted if the food industry contributes to healthy eating campaigns, such as the Change 4 Life campaign.
These views were echoed by the National Obesity Forum as well.
