New App, EarMachine for Those With Hearing Problems

Good news for those whose hearing is not up to the mark.

EarMachine is a new iOS App which can be downloaded at no cost and will be a blessing for those with hearing problems.

The EarMachine is capable of using the power of iPhones to work on the audio and adapt it to the user's needs. This is possible as Smart phones possess the same hardware as hearing assist devices, which includes a microphone, analog-to-digital converter, and a CPU.

The NIH and the Capita Foundation have funded the development of this new App.

With this App, the user can control the manner in which audio is processed depending on individual needs and the environment where the app is being used.

The app uses as input the microphone built into the phone and the output can be heard through the earphones.
