Wearing modified shoes while walking will help reduce the risk of further damage to the knees among patients suffering from knee osteoarthritis

The researchers found that wearing modified shoes reduced the load on the knees among the healthy, overweight and those suffering from osteoporosis.
Commenting on the study, Professor Bennell said, “Aids such as modified shoes, can reduce the ‘load’ on the inside of the knee and may slow progression of osteoarthritis. Research is happening right now that can help us find even better treatments.”
