Even though a number of studies suggest that a high protein diet rich in meat provides a major benefit to weight loss, a group of researchers from the Imperial College London suggest that the reverse was the truth.
The researchers studied the diet of more than 400,000 people across Europe over a period of five years and found that just eating 250g of meat per day was responsible for a weight gain of 2kg over five years.
However the researchers failed to find out what is the exact cause of such an increase and suggest that cutting down on our daily meat consumption could provide some benefit in losing the excess weight.
