India's Mobile Healthcare

India's global mobile health technology faces rapid growth in the next couple of years.

Mobile broadband is set to make all medical documentation electronic and easily accessible.

In a country where the majority of the masses lives in villages, and where ironically, most healthcare professionals lives in cities, m-health is vitally essential to provide healthcare services in all parts of the land.

The Apollo Group has already set up tele-centres in Chennai and Kolkata where medical services would be available at a call on a mobile phone. A remarkably innovative pilot project is to be tried out to handle emergency pregnancies through video streaming.

Multinational phone companies are initiating different programs to handle different health issues and medical emergency situations

India has set its sights far ahead in m-health technology.
