Helpline for Soldiers Who Served in Middle-East
A 24-hour helpline service has been set up which will cater mental health advice for traumatized soldiers coming home from the Middle-east. It is estimated that about 1 in 4 of those who served in Iraq suffer from some kind of mental health issue. Service personnel of Colchester's troops and veterans can seek advice about post traumatic stress or other mental issues. Families can also call the helpline to speak to people trained in dealing with ex-service men and women.

The helpline will be run in partnership between the Department of Health, charity Combat Stress and Rethink. It has been funded by The Enemy within Appeal launched last year.

The helpline number is 0800 138 1619.
