Dubai's Anti-Sex Law Comes Under Fire, 'Double Standards' Exposed

by Tanya Thomas on Jan 19 2010 8:57 AM

An investigation has apparently exposed the double standards of the strict anti-sex laws in Dubai.

For all its moral policing, Dubai's own fault lines are slowly being exposed. An investigation has apparently exposed the double standards of the strict anti-sex laws in the Muslim nation.

The investigation has revealed that the heart of the Middle East is actually a hub for prostitution.

"I have the best girls - best for sex. It's 250 pounds for the whole night or, if you want a quick one its only 85 pounds." the News of the World quoted Turkish madam Ayesha as saying.

Aliya from Istanbul, who works as a prostitute in Dubai, added: "Some girls like me work for Ayesha but others find their own customers here. It's 50 pounds extra for sex without condoms."

She continued: "Drinking and vice IS illegal because Dubai is a Muslim country but here you have no problems, you are safe.

"The police allow it. Many of our customers are top people from the police and important people in Dubai.

"None of us girls have proper papers but they allow us to work here no problem."

However, holidaymakers are not allowed the same freedom locals enjoy.

In July 2008 Michelle Palmer and Vince Acors, were caught getting physical on a sunbed and given three-month suspended prison sentences.
