Docs Leave Behind Surgical Pliers in Woman’s Womb

A young mother from Normandy region in France was shocked to find a pair of surgical pliers in her womb that were left behind by doctors after she gave birth through a Caesarean section.

The mother, whose name has been withheld, complained of experiencing lot of pain in her stomach up to six weeks after her delivery. She returned to the Charles Nicolle hospital and when the doctors scanned her stomach, she was shocked to find the presence of pliers in her stomach.

She has since undergone a successful operation to remove the pliers and the doctor who performed the C-section has assumed responsibility for the incident and has apologized. "It's not normal. The doctor apologized. He did not have much of an explanation for what happened. He took responsibility", the woman said, adding that she will be filing a formal complaint over the incident.
