An individual's blood group might affect the person's risk for stroke.

Proteins on the surface of red blood cells (RBC's) determine a person's blood group. Certain blood types may make the RBC's more likely to clump together and stick to the lining of blood vessels, which could be the possible reason for the blood clot and hence the stroke.
The study was presented at the American Heart Association conference.
