Achilles tendon: One of the longest tendons in the body, it attaches the calf muscles to the heel bone.Fascia: Sheet of thick fiber tissue which surrounds the body beneath the skin. Fascia also encloses muscles. Inflammation of the fascia is referred to as fasciitis.
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy: A procedure performed to relieve the pain and inflammation on the heel bone using external shock waves.
