Glossary

Protozoa: Protozoans are single-celled organisms with animal-like behaviors like motility and predation.

Helminths: Worms that affect the intestines and sometimes other parts of the body.

Amoebiasis: Amoebiasis is an infection caused by any of the amoebas of the Entamoeba group. Common symptoms are diarrhea and abdominal pain.

Weakened Immune System: The body's ability to fight invaders is low, making the patient vulnerable to infections. Such immune deficiency diseases include AIDS.
