Why is Mupirocin Prescribed? (Indications)

This medication is an antibiotic, prescribed for impetigo. It works by stopping the production of essential proteins needed for bacterial surveillance. It is not effective against fungal or viral infections.

When should Mupirocin not to be taken? (Contraindications)

Hypersensitivity.

What is the dosage of Mupirocin?

Topical- A small amount should be applied to the affected area three times daily.
