This medication is an antiarrhythmic agent, prescribed for ventricular fibrillation and life-threatening ventricular arrhythmia. It blocks the release of noradrenaline from nerve system.

Hypersensitivity.
What is the dosage of Bretylium Tosylate Injection ?
Life-Threatening Ventricular Arrhythmias- Adults- IV- The recommended dose is 5 to 10 mg/kg.
Children- IV- 50mg/kg/dose followed by 10mg/kg at 10 to 30 min intervals.

What are the warnings and precautions for Bretylium Tosylate Injection ?
* Caution should be exercised in patients with history of low or high blood pressure, severe heart disease, blocked blood vessels, lung, liver or kidney disease, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.* It may cause dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly from bed.

Heart - Low blood pressure, slow heart rate, increased premature ventricular contractions and abnormal heart rhythm, high blood pressure, chest pain and sensation of substernal pressure.Central Nervous System - Dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, anxiety and vertigo.
Gastrointestinal - Nausea and vomiting after rapid IV injection, diarrhea and abdominal pain.
