Abortive poliomyelitis

This is a milder form of polio and is referred to as Minor Polio. About 4 to 8% of infected individuals develop minor polio symptoms. The brain and the spinal cord are unaffected. The onset of the symptoms occurs 3 to 5 days following viral infection .The symptoms are as follows- :

 General feeling of illness and discomfort

 Fever

 Headache

 Sore throat

 Nausea

 Vomiting

 Lack of appetite

 Abdominal pain

 Constipation

  The symptoms disappear after 2 to 3 days resulting in complete recovery.
