The Irish Businesses and Employers Confederation (Ibec) has urged their employers to take at least a fifteen minutes walk everyday after their lunch intervals. According to Ibec, this mid-day walk could go a long way in maintaining good health.
The Nutrition and Health Foundation (NHF) of the Ibec is gearing to celebrate March 1st as the National Work Life Balance Day. NHF manager Dr. Louise Sullivan felt the need of some kind of physical activity for everyone to have on all or most days of the week.
AdvertisementAccording to Dr. Louise Sullivan, majority of the people do not use their lunch break for short strolls as they are not aware of its benefits. But this walk would be very useful especially for people with sedentary jobs.
To commemorate the National Work-life Balance Day, a new Work-life Balance and Childcare Manual will be published on the 1st of March.
