'Product of the Year' award is a global consumer recognition standard that rewards the best innovations in retail products in various countries.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Joydeep Roy, CEO & Wholetime Director, L&T Insurance said, 'This award is especially significant as it is a choice made by over 30,000 consumers across 36 markets in India. This policy has been designed after conducting extensive consumer research across various consumer segments and geographies. Our policy offers 22 distinctive features, which have been designed keeping in mind consumer's needs and expectations.'

He further added, 'We recognize that healthcare costs are different in different cities. Therefore, premium for a small city is different from premium for a metro city for the same sum insured. Additionally, our policy is not constrained by any sub-limits on the amount that can be spent under various heads like room rent, medicines, surgery, etc. Further, the sum insured also automatically doubles on diagnosis of the specified critical illnesses. We have cashless hospitalization available across the country with a unique-in-the-industry 'Response time commitment' with a voluntary, monetary penalty payable by us. It is indeed a best-in-class policy, which clearly exceeds consumer's expectations.'
