How to Take Secnidazole and it's Dose


It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Adult: PO- Invasive amoebiasis- The recommended dose is 1.5 g/day for 5 days. Amoebiasis; Giardiasis; Trichomoniasis Single dose of 2 gm.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

This medication is an antiamoebic agent, prescribed for giardiasis and amoebiasis.
