International- NeoTect. This medication is a radiopharmaceutical preparation, used to identify malignant lung tumors in patients who are highly suspect for malignancy. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : PIV- The recommended dose is 15 to 20 mCi as a single dose containing approximately 47µg of Technetium Tc 99m. How it should be taken : It comes as a solution for injection, to be administered by a healthcare provider into the peripheral vein. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver or kidney disease, diabetes, and children less than 18 years old. * Proper care should be given inorder to avoid radiation exposure. * Drink adequate fluid while using this medication. Side Effects : Nervous System - Headache, dizziness, drowsiness, uneasiness, gait abnormality, fatigue. Gastrointestinal - Nausea, vomiting, taste perversion, tongue inflammation, blood stained sputum. Heart - Flushing, chest pain. Musculoskeletal - Joint inflammation, back pain, leg cramps. * Avoid excess dosage. Storage Conditions : Store the kit at 2 – 8°C. |
