Effective Parenting

Effective Parenting

It’s during the initial stages that you can mold your child to be well mannered and well behaved. It is important for both, or at least either of the parents to invest time on raising children, not for the sake of it, but for the love of it.

Children while growing up tend to bite or suddenly hit you and that’s not because they are violent. They are still very young and immature with limited skills of expression. Don’t brand your child as a bully, but understand that it is just another stage that your child is trying to get out of.

As parents, it becomes your responsibility to help your child understand the other ways of seeking attention or calling out or putting forward their demands rather than biting or hitting. Failure to correct and inculcate the right behavior in the initial stages could later lead to your child being a bully hence paving the way to being a hoodlum and vandal.

In a nutshell, children are a replica of their parents. They observe a lot and always mirror what you are doing and grow up to doing the same without realizing if it is right or wrong. Hence it is important for parents to lead by example because they will grasp everything from the environment like a blotting paper.

Parents need to be level-headed first and get their priorities right to be in a position to guide their young ones. It is imperative for parents to constantly instill good values in children, so they grow up knowing right from wrong.

The initial years of growing up are crucial, and as parents, you should invest time with your children. The ‘quality time’ parents spend with their children will go a long way in molding children into responsible adults who will make this world a better place with their caring and sharing.
