Venezuelan Women Being Haunted by Hair Thieves
Venezuelan women are being terrorized by unusual kind of thieves who are stealing their hair by cornering them and cutting their hair off.
The gang of thieves, known as piranhas, comprise of both men and women and are targeting people in the coastal city of Maracaibo in Venezuela.

Women who have long and straight hair are the greatest target for the thieves who grab the victim by their hair and cut it off using scissors.

With the rising popularity of hair extensions in the country, natural and good quality hair often amounts to a pretty penny with a CNN report suggesting that one could earn over $500 for the hair. Despite law authorities beefing up the security in order to catch the thieves, they have not received any formal complaints from the public. A similar incident also occurred in Colombia where a woman saw her 8-inch braid cut off by thieves.
