Study Says Most Workers Spend Majority of Time Sitting
A new study has found that many workers spend 70% of the day sitting down at their desks, which is actually increasing the risk of diabetes and heart disease.

The study, sponsored by the nation's largest health insurer Medibank Private, also found that workers spend 77% in sedentary tasks at their desks and just 23% of the time in minor exercise like going over to the printer or the coffee machine.

A small device called an accelerometer was used in the study to measure how much people exercised and it found that one-third of participants did 30 minutes of exercise as required by national guidelines.

More worryingly moderate exercise occupies just 5% of time on both work days as well as off days.
