As the recession hit Britons, many of them decided to shed their inhibitions and go into the sex trade to make ends meet.

From a receptionist turned lap-dancer, and a telesales couple turned escorts, a bank clerk turned telly porn star has revealed her experiences in the business, which has now been dubbed as the "Sexcession".

Sammi Jay, 28, from Welwyn, Herts, started working for an adult satellite TV channel after she was made redundant from her bank clerk job in 2008.

"A mate told me about Babeworld, where men call up to hear women talk dirty," the Sun quoted her as saying.

"I talked about it with my boyfriend of five years and he was supportive, so my pal put me in touch with her boss.

"I listen to what the men are saying and act out the role they want me to be, for example a saucy secretary.

"A couple of months ago I started working on-screen as the pay was better, around 340 pound a night.

"This means men call and I do what they ask. If they say: 'Can I see your boobs?' I'll show them.

"People say it's degrading but I disagree. I enjoy the money. I work 9pm to 5am, but it's less stressful than bank work," she added.
