'Ravana' and 'Kumbhkarna' Donate Blood to Create Awareness

Mythological characters from Hindu epic Ramayana Sunday donated blood here to create social awareness about blood donation.

Sunil Sharma (Ravana), Ashwini Sharma (Meghnad) and Mahesh Kumar (Kumbhkarna) are actors with the region's oldest Ramleela at Sector-17 parade ground here.

The actors are regular blood donors. Sunil has donated blood 39 times.

The director of Ramleela, Suresh Bakshi said: "While the Ramleela sends out a message of the triumph of good over evil, we felt that it was also a good opportunity and platform to spread other important messages like voluntary blood donation. Our artistes are in any case regular blood donors. We hope this will enthuse other people to also join the voluntary blood donation movement."
